Thank you for choosing the KENWOOD TH-D74A/E transceiver. By utilizing this software, you can enjoy more comfortable and more sophisticated communications with the TH-D74A/E transceiver.
About this software
ARFC-D74 is a software, with a connection between the TH-D74A/E transceiver and your PC, allowing you to control from your PC the receive frequency for operation in IF/Detect Output Mode by the transceiver.
This software and TH-D74A/E transceiver can be connected using a Micro-USB cable or the Bluetooth function.
About virtual COM port driver for the TH-D74
A virtual COM port driver needs to be installed onto the PC to use the ARFC-D74
ATTENTION:Do not connect the transceiver to a PC before installing the virtual COM port driver.

Notes:
This software is designed to run on the above operating systems.
This software also runs on Windows® 11. (Noted on June 23, 2022)
Applicable operating systems are subject to change without notice due to the end of the technical support by Microsoft Corporation or change of the product specifications.
The .NET Framework 4.6 which is available for download from Microsoft download center must also be installed. (Windows® 10 users do not need to install the .NET Framework.).
2. Processor
Faster than the recommended CPU for each OS.
3. System Memory (RAM)
Larger than the recommended System Memory for each OS.
4. Free Hard Drive Space
100 MB or more of free hard drive space.
5. Peripheral Devices
A display with resolutions higher than SXGA (1280 x 1024).
A keyboard and a mouse, or other pointing devices.
USB 2.0 port or Bluetooth function that conforms to SPP (Serial Port Profile).
Attention
With this software, you cannot directly increment or decrement the receive frequency for reception by the TH-D74A/E transceiver while the transceiver is operative in AF Output Mode.
Since the software is for operation in IF/Detect Output Mode, the TH-D74A/E's Squelch is always opened while the software is connected to the TH-D74A/E.
Turn the transceiver OFF before connecting it to a PC.
You cannot connect the TH-D74A/E to a PC COM port via an RS-232C cable.
Notes on usage
Users are prohibited to assign, rent, lease, redistribute, or resell the software.
Users are prohibited to revise, change, translate, merge, de-compile, or reverse engineer the software.

JVC KENWOOD Corporation shall own all copyrights and other intellectual properties for the software and all manuals and documents attached to the software. The user shall be allowed to use, not to resell, the software by obtaining a license from JVC KENWOOD Corporation. While the media on which the software is stored is possessed by the user, the ownership for the software itself shall be reserved for JVC KENWOOD Corporation.
Installing the ARFC-D74
Extract the downloaded file "ARFC-D74_V101.zip" into a designated folder.
In the designated folder, a folder labeled "ARFC-D74_V101" will be created.
Execute the "setup.exe" in the folder labeled "ARFC-D74_V101", and follow the instructions that appear on the display to install ARFC-D74.
Note:
Administrator privileges are required when installing the ARFC-D74.
Uninstalling the ARFC-D74
Select "ARFC-D74" in "Uninstall a program" in the Control Panel and follow the instructions that appear on the display to uninstall the software. Or double-click "setup.exe", and follow the instructions that appear on the display to uninstall the software.
Notes:
Administrative privileges are required to uninstall the ARFC-D74.
Always exit the ARFC-D74 before uninstalling the software.
