TM-541A in detail:
10W RF power output
Rugged and compact, the TM-541A has an RF output of 10 watts. It also
features a HI/LO power switch that allows for power reduction to 1
watt.
Easy-to-read, easy-to-operate illuminated keys plus large LCD
display
The functionally designed control panel with individually backlit
keys greatly enhances convenience and ease of operation during night-time
use. Another welcome feature is the large, built-in multi-function
LCD display which provides optimum visibility in direct sunlight or
after dark. The display indicates frequency, frequency step, memory
channel, tone frequency, lock-out memory channel, S & RF meter, BUSY,
LOW, DTSS, T (Tone), REV (Reverse), CTCSS, and tone alert system.
There are also dimmer controls which adjust LCD brightness in 4 steps
to match ambient lighting conditions.
Supplied multi-function backlit mic with DTMF
For enhanced operating ease in low-light situations, the supplied
microphone is designed with large, backlit keys. Controls are provided
on the microphone for CALL (call channel), VFO, MR (memory recall
or change the memory channel) and a programmable function key. The
programmable function key can be used to control one of the following
functions on the radio: MHz, SHIFT, TONE, REV, DR/DT, LOW or MONITOR.
20 multi-function memory channels plus call channel
20 memory channels allow storage of frequency, TONE/CTCSS frequency,
TONE ON/OFF status, and REV, for quick and easy access during mobile
operation. Three channels (1-3) are used to store DTSS codes and ON/OFF
status. Four channels (7, 8, 9 and 10) are used to store the transmit
and receive frequencies independently for odd split repeaters.
Built-in selectable CTCSS tone encoder
Any one of the 38 sub-tone frequencies may be selected using the "Tone"
key. The optional decoder enables all 37 EIA standard CTCSS frequencies,
selectable via the main knob.
ALT (Automatic Lock Tuning) function
The automatic lock tuning function compensates for frequency drift.
