| KENWOOD Corporation (President and CEO: Haruo Kawahara; Head Office: Hachioji, Tokyo) is pleased to announce that it will successively launch the digital memory audio players M2GC7 and M1GC7 to its "Media Keg" series. These new players have not only realized high-quality reproduction of sound that is almost identical to that of a CD, even if the sound is stored in a compressed format, by incorporating various high-quality sound technologies such as new digital amplifier or "Supreme", KENWOOD's original high-quality sound technology, but they also enable listeners to enjoy "Seamless Entertainment" by connecting them to its compact Hi-Fi systems UD-A77/A55 and its car audio "U series", all of which are equipped with a USB host function. |

Based on the uniform concept of “reproduction of original sound,” KENWOOD is seeking to enhance its product lineup in the fields of home, portable, and car audio products, and in anticipation of the diffusion of new media including flash memory and HDD, is now devoting its efforts to commercializing high-quality sound models that will befit the coming age of digital media.
The company is also doing its utmost to develop products that satisfy the needs of people who want to seamlessly enjoy an enormous amount of music data recorded on these new media not only at home and outdoors but also in their cars.
As a result of these efforts and initiatives, the company will launch the digital audio players M2GC7 and M1GC7 to its “Media Keg” series, which not only reproduce music, even compressed music, at a high sound quality by adopting various high-quality sound technologies fostered over a long time, but also realize seamless entertainment through linkage with home and car audio products.
The new models are equipped with amplifiers that utilize the newly developed new digital amplifier technology. We have successfully realized high-quality reproduction of clear sound by reducing audible noise. The new models are also equipped with the original high-quality sound technology “Supreme,” which has been adopted in the HDD-type “Media Keg” and highly appraised. This proprietary technology enables users to enjoy music at a sound quality that is almost identical to that of music data recorded on CDs, by interpolating constituents of a high-pitched tessitura, which are lost when music data is compressed into MP3, Windows Media Audio (WMA), or other formats to a spectrum of up to 22 kHz. The new models can also record music CDs in stereo and at quad-speed (4x), when linked with the company’s compact Hi-Fi systems UD-A77/A55, which have a USB host function. They also provide a high-quality sound, and a seamless music environment, since users can reproduce music stored on M2GC7 and M1GC7 by simply linking the new players with home and car audio systems that are equipped with USB terminals.
